22.2020 PRONEWS XT/XS 16.3

Dear EVS Operator,

Welcome to the new issue of Operators’ ProNews – with information on all the latest products and updates from EVS. This month, alongside the usual range of updates to functions and usability, we introduce:

In the latest version of EVS’s Multicam software, 16.3new functionality has been introduced to improve IP reliability. SMPTE standard ST-2022-7 seamless switching is now available for all HD definitions. It applies to clean video outs, monitor out and audio.

Using ST-2022-7 provides a robust and reliable redundancy solution, with all video and audio flows duplicated.

Alongside the IP improvements, there are new supermotion configurations in both HD and UHD-4K. There is also a new H.264 codec – available for the XT/XS-VIA servers – which offers a better quality to bandwidth ratio.

X-ONE 1.4

With the latest updates to the X-One  all-in-one production system operators are no longer limited to creating a single highlight. You can now create as many highlights as required, and some editing functionality has been added in order for you to better manipulate highlights clips within playlists.

A new audio monitoring tab has now been added, to improve monitor settings. It’s now also possible to use external MIDI controllers alongside the X-One, to open up the possibility of two-operator workflows for more complex productions.

XEEBRA 2.3.3

There have been a number of improvements to the Xeebra Video Assistance system , including the new option to monitor audio alongside video replays. As hearing the audio can be useful when making key decisions, this flexible and easily configurable option is likely to prove valuable.

There have also been enhancements to the wireframe configuration, to enable calibration even where no field markings are visible.

LSM CONNECT 2.11 & 2.12

Faster operations and improved usability have been the focus of the latest LSM Connect updates. There are new keyboard shortcuts, improved search functionality and a clipboard to enable the triggering of multiple clip copies.

XFILE3 5.2 & 5.3

Updates to XFile3 have added new streaming improvements, updated templates for common workflows, new behaviours when restarting or importing rules and the option to hide failed or cancelled jobs in the monitoring panel.

The latest version of IPDirector introduces a number of new features and updates. These include improvements to AB-Roll playback - including the ability to recue without pausing first, and protect cued elements. The Publish add-on, now allows users to send clips and files directly to Twitch, on top of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

It’s now also possible to publish to Twitch from IPWeb too. Other usability enhancements have been introduced, including the ability to publish bins directly to one or several users, and the highlighting of search results for matching metadata fields.

XSQUARE 3.15 & 3.16

Improvements to Xsquare in the latest updates include new 1080p and 4K ingest to Avid capabilities. Closed Caption information is now preserved in MPEG-DASH proxy files, and backup/restore of XDCAM HD clips can now be carried out with up to 32 audio channels.
